Our Shopify app enables merchants to connect their Shopify store with our affiliate tracking software. This policy applies to our practices concerning data collected through the app, including affiliate link tracking on merchant storefronts.

1. What We Collect

We do not collect or store any personal data such as names, email addresses, or payment details. The information we collect is limited to non-personal identifiers used solely for internal affiliate attribution.

Specifically, we collect:

Transaction_ID: An internal identifier passed through affiliate URLs.
IP Address: Temporarily stored for matching with the Transaction_ID to identify the affiliate source.
Browser Storage Data:

Local Storage
Cookies (first-party)

These identifiers are stored only to allow us to track which affiliate referred a purchase on a Shopify store.

2. How We Collect It

Our app embeds tracking scripts on merchant storefronts to:

Append affiliate links with a Transaction_ID.
Store this identifier in the visitor's:

IP address (server-side)
Browser local storage
Cookies (client-side)

This tracking is essential for the proper attribution of affiliate referrals.

3. Why We Collect This Information

We collect the above identifiers for affiliate tracking and attribution purposes only. This helps us determine which affiliate is responsible for referring a customer, so merchants can properly credit them.

We do not use this information for profiling, advertising, or reselling.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Depending on your location, our processing of data is based on:

Legitimate Interest – Tracking affiliate referrals is necessary for fulfilling obligations to merchants and affiliates.
Contractual Necessity – Our service relies on identifying which affiliate link led to a transaction.

5. Data Storage and Retention

IP addresses and Transaction_IDs are stored for up to 90 days, unless a merchant requires a longer attribution window.
Cookies and local storage data expire automatically within the merchant-defined or default attribution period.

All data is stored securely using encryption and access control mechanisms.

6. Security

We implement reasonable safeguards to protect data, including:

Secure transmission (HTTPS)
Encryption at rest and in transit
Access limitation and internal logging

However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade any data. We only share data in the following limited circumstances:

With Shopify merchants using our app (to verify affiliate tracking).
With our internal servers used for affiliate tracking and reporting.
If required by law or legal process.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our tracking system uses:

First-party cookies
Local storage

These store the Transaction_ID for affiliate tracking. Users can clear this data via their browser settings.

If you're a merchant operating in a region with privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA), you must ensure that appropriate cookie banners or tracking consent mechanisms are in place on your storefront.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
